Recipe: Thai Beef Salad

Serves 6. Preparation time 30 mins.

Ingredients:

SALAD

  • 1/4 red cabbage
  • 1/4 normal cabbage
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 red capsicum
  • 1 red onion or spring onions
  • ~700g rump steak or similar

DRESSING / MARINADE

  • 2 limes – juiced
  • 2tbs fresh ginger – grated
  • 2 cloves garlic – grated
  • 1/2 bunch fresh mint – chopped
  • 1/2 bunch fresh coriander – chopped
  • 1tbs soy sauce
  • 1tbs fish sauce or oyster sauce
  • 2tbs sesame oil
  • 1 chili

Method:

  1. Finely slice all veges (julienne).
  2. Combine dressing ingredients. Make sure to taste test and add ingredients until it is to your liking.
  3. Use half the dressing over the beef slices to marinate.
  4. Cook beef. Add beef to salad.
  5. Add remaining dressing.
