Short Hamstrings Impact Deadlift Position, Not Squat Position

– Because we’re tucking under in that deadlift position there’s going to be tightness through here. Now, the same does not necessarily apply to a squat ’cause a lot of people will say, okay, this is happening in a deadlift and it’s happening in a squat. Therefore hamstrings and glutes are tight. What they fail to remember is that when you’re doing a squat, my hamstrings sure are being stretched over the hip but we’re also releasing some tension over the knee ’cause the hamstrings are involved in hip extension but also knee flexion. So, if their back is rounding here it’s not a hamstring issue. But if their back is rounding here in a deadlift then yes, it’s possibly a hamstring issue.
