We can examine this by looking at DALYs, or Disability Adjusted Life Years. Basically, these combine years of life lost due to premature death and years of life lived with a disability. DALYs are a great measure of both quality and quantity of life.

So here’s the top ten ranked DALYs.

  5. Unintentional Injuries
  6. Nervous System Disorders
  7. Musculoskeletal Diseases
  8. Diabetes Mellitus

  10. Intentional Injuries

Research has shown exercise can play a part in preventing or treating SEVEN of the top ten.
